hello to all who can understand english!
today we have had our final rdv for the agreement,and we will find out in 3 weeks if we have been accepted or not.
after 2 years of sorting out papers for the marriage in france and to start the 9 month agreement (which is now complete)we were told today that we need to ask for french nationality,which we find very difficult as they could have told us this at the beginning 2 years ago and we could have done it straight away,as to get the french nationality it takes 18 months.we are very unclear as to really what happens after the commissionaire has said yes or no and where who and what we need to do.as the conseil generale have not been very helpful,and have not explained things in full.so if there is anyone out there who can help us we would love to talk to you.i do speak french but do not wtite it very well,though my sister is fluent.

Je suis étranger et j’habite en France :

Les personnes ressortissantes d'un pays partie à la Convention de La Haye doivent suivre la procédure d'adoption en France puis faire reconnaître cette adoption dans leur pays.
Les autres doivent se renseigner auprès des services sociaux de leur pays.
Attention, l'adoption n'est pas possible pour les personnes ressortissantes d'un pays dans lequel la loi personnelle prohibe adoption sauf cas particulier.

I´m sorry for you as well as very surprised you´ve been told that you need French nationality. I´m Spanish, my husband is French, we started agreement last december, and nobody has ever told me that I´d need French Nationality... Why don´t you ask the President of the Conseil General directly?
Hope you will have a positive answer as soon as possible...
